"New Music Thursday" (Instead of Tuesday)

I still remember.

I am obsessed with this guy. Literally. Love his voice in so many of his songs.

I've heard this song so many times, but there is just something about this version that makes me hold my breath...
It's beautiful.

On My Mind...

Third Eye Blind totally reminds me of high school. There are so many bands that I loved in High School, but I loved this entire CD. These songs are some of my favorites, but honestly every song is great...loved this CD. Can't believe I still have it and it isn't worn out from all the times I used to play it.
Been thinking about old songs lately. I have always been able to vividly remember songs and place them with events that happened. Sometimes a blessing and sometimes a curse. It's like I can relive a moment. I love music for that reason. These songs bring back such great memories.

SuNDaY PiCTuReS

I don't take enough pictures of Kai and Cic in their church clothes. Church is right in the middle of nap time so Sundays are usually quite hard. Today both kids were happy when we came home from church so I jumped at the opportunity to get some shots.
I bought this suit for Kai during Easter this year and it was HUGE on him. I have been waiting to see when he would hit a growth spurt so he could finally wear it. Today we tried it on and it fits so much better. Perfect timing too b/c today was a little chilly outside.
Playing around with the saturation... I love this face on Cic. This is the face I see all. day. long.
I love these pictures! Ben just has to stand behind me and make silly faces and the kiddos just crack up.

"HaNoWeeN iS CoMiNG"

We are SO excited for Halloween this year. Kai runs around all the time saying, "Hanoween is coming, Hanoween is coming!"
My Mom is amazing and always finds a reason to send us "care packages" full of goodies for the kiddos. This time she sent several Halloween goodies and included a haunted (gingerbread) house for the kiddos (and when I say kiddos I mean Kai and Ben) to put together. Cic was interested at first and then we she realized that I wasn't going to let her eat all the candy I opened for the house, she wanted to get down and play.
Thanks for sending us awesome packages, Mom. It is such a highlight and we absolute love it!

I did manage to snap a shot of every one's "excited face" before the real work began.
Kai was in charge of separating the candy and took his job very seriously.
Ben is such a good sport about helping with activities like this. It isn't his favorite thing to do, but he takes one for the team b/c Kai LOVES it.
Making our path to the house.
All finished and ever so proud! I love this smile.
Every morning Kai wakes up and runs over to the kitchen table to make sure his haunted house is still there. His favorite part is the ghost on the front. (Kai's totally into ghosts at the moment. In fact the other day he dropped his toy in my room and looked under my bed to find it and told me that there was a ghost, "a mean ghost" under my bed. I try not to think too much about stuff like this. I reassured him that there was not a mean ghost under my bed, but seriously I watch too many scary movies not to think about the ghost under my bed every night before I fall asleep.)
Cic was so happy to take a picture with the haunted house. She smiled at the camera and said, "Cheeeee".
Pumpkin Patch

We thought about going to different places for a pumpkin this year and opted to go to a local church (again). It's so close by, there is no admission fee, proceeds go to support the youth mission fund, and the kids have a blast.
Even though the pumpkins are totally overpriced I justify it by telling Ben that we are helping the community.
Kai was so happy he jumped out of the car and ran around hunting for the biggest pumpkin he could find. Any pumpkin that was large he would yell out, "I foun my punkin! Dis one mine."
Ben was all for my plan in supporting our community, but we decided that we didn't want to support it that much.
We told Kai he needed to tone down the size and he opted for a smaller (but still quite large) pumpkin. We even let him pick out Cici's pumpkin and lucky for Ben, they are about the same size.
Kai also picked out a "baby punkin" and toted it around like it was his best friend for the remainder of our pumpkin patch visit.

Cici had a ball and ended up just following Kai around the pumpkin patch not quite sure what was going on but still happy to be there.
Kai and Ben put the pumpkins in the back of the car and on the way home we heard Kai talking to his pumpkins.

"Baby punkin, are you alright back there?"

Then we would hear the pumpkin answer, (in a voice sounding like Kai's)

"Ya, I'm alright."

"EvEryOnE pOOps" (and Cic likes to do it in the potty!)

Yup! I haven't started potty training yet, but Cic decided she is "curious." She loves to sit on the training potty. Today she was concentrating a little too hard and I asked her if she wanted to try and go in the potty. She said, "uh huh" and walked right over to the potty and pooped in the training potty. YAY!
You would have thought that I had just won the lottery. I was so excited. I am still not ready to potty train Cic yet, but we are getting close I think. This winter I am going to go for it and we will see how it goes.
Congrats Cic...Almost 17 months and already showing interest in potty training!

I should have posted these pictures with Kai's birthday post...
There were so many pictures that I liked, I know it seems like I didn't eliminate any...I did though. What can I say, I am so in love with this kid! I think that every (well almost every) picture is adorable.
I found this rustic spot in downtown Littleton and absolutely LOVE it. We are taking our Christmas card pictures this weekend and will probably return to this location.

"I'm this many fingers old."

Love this smile.

Trying "not to smile."
Serious pose.

again...not smiling. Such a happy kid...this is like the only thing he can do NOT to smile.

I love when I capture a true "moment" with my kids.
Anyone who knows Kai, knows that his tongue is constantly sticking out. In fact, I had to keep asking Kai to keep his tongue in his mouth to take pictures.

Still find it hard to believe that Kai's already 3...yet it feels like I have known him longer. Like he's always been here.
Love him.

"SWeeT CaRoLiNe"

I recently took some pictures of my friends little girl. She was so precious. I instantly fell in love with her. Oh just being around her made me so baby hungry.
Have you ever seen a baby with more hair? She just needs to share some of these locks with Cici.
Congrats Laura, she is PERFECT!
