Seriously?! Is it really possible that I am 100% caught up on my blog? I cannot remember the last time I was caught up on here. I have no more pictures in my camera that have not been uploaded to the computer. Feels wonderful to have nothing "pending." Now, if I could just get caught up on the laundry.

April was a month of new beginnings for Kai. He started swim lessons. I am still undecided on how I feel about them. I cannot decide if they are a total waste of money or not. Kai is becoming a bit more comfortable in the water though and I guess that's all that really matters.
He LOVES swim class though. He's the smallest in his class and usually shivers everytime they sit on the side of the pool. He's just a little guy. A CUTE little guy.

This is his class. Kai's on the end in the green shorts, shivering...and shaking.

Kai also started soccer. He is too young to be on league here, but they have a "camp style" league that he is in. I officially became a "soccer mom" and couldn't be happier.

My proudest moment...
They got everyone on his team together on the first day and told them to dribble their soccer ball to one end of the field. Kai immediately picked up his soccer ball and started trying to dribble it like a basketball while everyone else kicked their ball across the field. I had the biggest smile on my face and couldn't have been happier with his reaction. That's my boy!

Coloring Easter Eggs
Kai and Cic were totally into Easter this year. Holidays are a blast now.

What a smile.

Easter morning.
Ben had early morning church meetings, so we had to do our Easter Egg hunt EARLY before church.

Tru was the first to find his Easter basket this year. It was in the corner of the living room on the floor. He crawled right over to it. His favorite part of the basket was the grass.

After the baskets were found, we headed outside to find the eggs.

Pretty sure we woke up our neighbors with the kids cheers and squeals.

Ok, so MAYBE we had too many eggs...

I tried to get an Easter shot before church with everyone looking at the camera. Since Ben has early meetings he's not around to help out. It's hard to get everyone to look at the camera when Ben's not behind me making silly faces.

Not my favorite faces...but everyone is looking at the camera.

After church (when Ben was home) we decided to try and get a better shot. Nope...

I do love this picture though. Tru was sooo done and ready for nap time.

My Mom always sends Cicilee an Easter dress. I love that she continues this tradition that we used to share when I was younger. Cic LOVES this dress. It's just perfect for her. Thanks so much Mom. You are an amazing grandmother.

We met Ben at the park one afternoon during his lunch break. The kids had a blast.

Kai and Cic play so well together. I could just watch them play and listen to their happy squeals all day long.

Cic looks up to Kai so much. I love this picture. She follows him around and wants to do whatever he does.

We filled up our little pool in the backyard since the outdoor neighborhood one isn't open yet. Cic has Ben's skin and is so fair and I will be coating her with sunscreen EVERYDAY.

Best friends.

Love this one.

We are usually outside during Tru's afternoon nap, but one day he was able to join us for a bit. He loved crawling around in the pool and splashing around. He is such a happy guy and oh so cute!
I love this picture. I love washed out pictures. Can't help myself...

March 2THouSaND12

March was a fun month this year. I turned 30. I used to think that was so old. It was like an unreachable age. ...something that would never happen to me.
30 seems so old until you turn 30. Then all of a sudden it's no big deal. Maybe it's no big deal because I still feel 24. I don't feel 30 unless someone asks me my age...I still find myself having to pause and think to myself, "am I REALLY 30?" Then, after doing the math, it is confirmed.

We didn't have any plans for my birthday this year. It fell on a Friday and I just expected Ben to go into work. Since the weather was so nice I was going to take the kids to the park with some friends. That was my plan until I called Ben at work on Thursday. He had already left the office and instead of his regular office voicemail, I heard a new voicemail. He had made an out of office voicemail stating that he would not be in the office on Friday.
I immediately hung up the phone and knew he had something planned.
Ben took the day off, made everyone breakfast, and told me he was taking me shopping. YES, SHOPPING. Ben hates shopping. We shopped ALL day long. It was awesome.
We went downtown to the 16th Street Mall, down to Castle Rock to the outlets, and then out to dinner.
Turning 30 was awesome!
I love ice cream cakes and Ben finally got me one. Every year for my birthday, I tell him I want one and this is the first year he actually did it. The kids loved it.
Tru didn't have any ice cream but he sure wanted some.

Another shot to Tru's eyes...

Trying to get a shot of me and all three kids looking at the camera.

I put Tru to bed and asked Kai and Cic to put on their pajamas. They both came downstairs in Christmas pajamas. When I asked Kai why he was wearing Christmas jammies he replied, "Umm because you got some presents today just like Christmas."
Makes sense to me.

I love having a birthday on the weekend. It just makes for several days of celebration rather than just one. The next day was St. Patrick's Day and before we went out we snapped a few shots.
I would have taken one of Ben and the kids but Ben wasn't wearing any green. He's such a scrooge sometimes.

The neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt was in March this year. Not sure why, but the weather was PERFECT. Kai and Cic were so excited. We met at the park where the eggs were scattered. Cic couldn't contain herself and we had to keep telling her to wait until the hunt started. She was so anxious...until the firetruck right behind her, blew it's horn suddenly announcing the start of the egg hunt.
Then...we had a meltdown. It was terrible. She was so scared from the horn and just stood there and bawled throughout the 30 second neighborhood egg hunt. She didn't grab a single egg. Fortunately Kai grabbed some for her. He is such a thoughtful brother and wants to ensure that Cic is happy and everything is fair and square.
I am so grateful that my Kids love each other.

Tru just sat in my sling and watched the chaos.
Not sure what setting Ben had the camera on, but the picture below is so washed out...Shows just how pale Tru and I are. We need a tan.
I tried and tried to get a picture of all three kids looking at the camera, but Tru was just too fascinated with the grass.

We worked really hard to get Cic to sit on the firetruck. She was still a bit nervous because the horn scared her so bad.

I love this pic...so much.

Roasting marshmallow's in the backyard. This is my favorite summer activity. Love the cool, crisp Colorado evenings.

Can't wait for many more evenings spent by the fire pit.
