One More Reason Why I Love My Husband...

Every night we have Kai's nightly ritual before he goes to bed...
...eat, diaper change, pajamas, read a book, brush his teeth, family prayer, and then sing a song together...

Most of you probably don't know this, but Ben is my very own American Idol. He sings ALL the time...whatever he is doing, he has a song in his head (and if we are at home, the song can be heard all throughout the house). He is a good singer, I'll be honest...but we have different taste in music. TOTALLY DIFFERENT TASTE!
He listens to music from the 80's sometimes and I can't stand it...

So, tonight when we tucked Kai into his bed I asked Ben what song he wanted to sing...
I usually sing, "You are my Sunshine" or another type of lullaby to Kai.

All of a sudden Ben busts out with,
"As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I take a look at my life and realize there's nothing left..."

WHAT?
I stood there dumbfounded. I couldn't believe that Ben was rapping Gangsta's Paradise to Kai for a lullaby.

He always makes me laugh...even when I am not expecting it.
Ben, I love you!

"Mamma Said There'd Be Days Like This..."

Kai doesn't take a nap everyday anymore. It really is frustrating. He will fight it, and I fight right back. I leave him in his room for the duration of his nap (from 12pm-3pm). Usually he just talks to himself or makes a mess of his room during nap time if he isn't going to sleep. Today he cried and yelled for the entire 3 hours. (I know I sound so mean, but I did go in and comfort him every once in a while to make sure he was ok....he was just being a little stinker.)
This is what happened b/c he didn't take a nap.
(This video was taken at 5:40pm...it is now 6:30pm and he is screaming bloody murder again. Not sure why he would rather sleep in his high chair rather than his bed.)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

I can't wait til the warm sunshine is back!

We finally decided on a name for our little girl.

One of my best friends is named Cicily, she was my roommate in college and one of my bridesmaids. I love her to death! Thanks for letting us use your unique name.

The middle name, Jane, is after my mother...(need I say more?)

Our little girl will have quite the names to live up to.

I finally finished the letters for her room.
I found these frames at Hobby Lobby and stenciled her name onto the back of the glass. I couldn't find stencils large enough and so I had to make my own.

We are just about done with her room and ready to meet her.

eaSTer!!!

This Easter was the best yet. It was so fun! We spent the entire weekend as a family doing things together.
It all started on Saturday morning when we went to the Highlands Ranch Easter Egg Hunt for Kai. It started at 10:00am sharp and lasted til 10:05am. It was crazy and there were tons of people. Kai was a little shell shocked and didn't really know what to think but quickly caught on that he was supposed to put the eggs in his basket.





After Kai woke up from his nap, we dyed Easter Eggs. I was terrified that we were going to spill the dye on something and it would stain, but we somehow managed not to spill any.







My Mom always sends Kai the cutest things for each holiday. This year for Easter she sent sun catchers to hang in the window. We did the project together over the weekend and Kai LOVES them! Ben didn't even complain about doing a craft. Thanks Mom, you are the BEST grandma ever!



I didn't have much time on Easter morning before church to take a picture of our little stud muffin. These are the only ones I was able to get. I will have to get a better picture of Kai in his suit another day. Doesn't he just look like a little man?!



After church and Kai's nap, we had our own Easter Egg hunt. First Kai had to find his basket...

My mom always sends Kai a Dr. Seuss book with the matching stuffed animal. He is one lucky kid to have you as his Grandma, Mom! Thanks for being so thoughtful!

I am so lucky to have such a beautiful family! I love Easter because I am reminded just how much my Savior loves ME. I am grateful for His sacrifice and His example. I feel so lucky to know that because of His sacrifice we will be a family forever.
