Summer Coming to an End?

I can't believe that summer is coming to an end. I hate going to any store this time of year b/c there are school supplies and back to school sales advertised EVERYWHERE.
(Not to mention Christmas decorations already out...ugh that is so depressing). I feel like summer just got here and now it is over. I HATE WINTER.

Cicilee has made this summer fly by I guess. She is growing like a weed and we are totally in love with her. Here is a cute shot of our little doll...

We had a picnic at the park last week and Kai loved every minute of it. He always manages to find the dirtiest things to play with. He is ALL boy. I am quickly learning that there is a HUGE difference between a son and a daughter. Cic is so much more work than Kai ever was.

SOOOOOO happy to announce that Cicilee slept through the night last night!
(8 weeks old).

I can't begin to tell you how good I feel this morning. Let's hope she feels as good and decides to keep doing it!

CHuNKY MoNKeY

Our baby girl is two months old. We love you Cic!

We went to the doctor today for Cicilee's 2 month check-up. Holy cow, two months has FLOWN by.
I know I shouldn't, but I can't help but compare Cic and Kai. They are like Apples and Oranges. They are SOOOO different.
Kai has always been "underweight" and in a low percentile for his weight. Cicilee on the other hand is not underweight at all. :)
Cicilee's Stats today~
Weight~11 lbs 4.5 oz = 65%
Height~22 1/2 inches = 50%
She is quite the chub. I guess it is better than her being underweight though. I am so suprised b/c I ALWAYS worry if she is getting enough to eat. Guess I know now that she is fine.
The only thing her and Kai really have in common is they both get acid reflux pretty bad. Hopefully she will grow out of it. We go through burp cloths like crazy and I ALWAYS have laundry to do now b/c everything gets spit up on.

Soul Food

Carly and JT came into town last weekend. The only way I can really describe how I feel about them is "soul food". They are just...good for you. :)

We have been friends with them since Ben and I were dating. They were our best friends in Utah and we hung out with them ALL the time.
I worked at Far West Bank with Carly and we both graduated from the University of Utah together in Mass Communications. We had classes together, studied together and became best friends. She is now (a celebrity) working at a radio station doing traffic and news on the air in the mornings. Some of you may listen to her.
Ben and JT were golfing buddies when we lived in Utah.
It's just so nice to be with people who know where you have been and what you have gone through.
They are the kind of friends who would do ANYTHING to help you out. You could call them ANYTIME and they would drop what they were doing and be at your side at a moments notice. We are so lucky to be friends with them b/c not only do Carly and I get along, but Ben and JT totally get along as well. It's awesome when you find married friends who you both like the couple and not just one or the other (does that even make sense?).
Anyway, Carly and JT came into town to visit and we had a ball! It was a busy weekend of golf, shopping, making pizzas, roasting smores, site seeing, touring downtown, topped off with Sunday dinner. We are so lucky to have Carly and JT in our lives. They are THE BEST parents I know. They are extremely good with our kids. I love them so much. The only bad part about everything is they still live in Utah and we don't get to see them nearly enough.

Cicilee's Baby Blessing Weekend...

Warning...this is a really long post...

Fourth of July~

We woke up early and went to the Highlands Ranch parade. It gets better and better every year. Kai had a blast and Cicilee...well she did what she does best and slept. I felt awful b/c I had her in a little tank top dress and it was quite chilly.

We went to the Rockies game again this year for the forth of July and I am so upset that I didn't take my camera! We had a blast. Cicilee and Kai both did really well at the game and as always we LOVE the firework show at the end.


K...so this is really funny. My Mom bought some "fireworks" for us to use on the 4th. We just assumed you lit them. Anyway, so my whole family sits out on the front steps to watch our little firework show and we attempted to light these "fireworks" and it just won't light. Everyone is making fun of me b/c I can't get the string to light. I tried and tried and it just kept blowing out. After several other people tried we finally looked at the "firework" and the "fuse" we were trying to ignite was actually just a string you pulled and confetti popped out. Ha ha, joke's on us I guess. I felt like a living redneck joke....like you would have heard Larry the Cable Guy talking about us.

At least the kids still had fun pulling the "fuse"...

This is my Aunt Jean with Cicilee. Aunt Jean is my mom's (identical) twin sister. It was so awesome for Jean and Kirk to come down for the blessing. She is so good with Cicilee, and they are always a hoot to be around. Thanks for coming Jean and Kirk. We love you guys so much!!!




The Blessing~

Cicilee's blessing was awesome! Ben gave such a beautiful blessing. We had so many family members, neighbors, and friends come to support us...it was really overwhelming. I cannot put into words the emotions I felt having so many family members around. It was just awesome. We don't live close to any family really so it was refreshing to see everyone...and to feel loved.
This is everyone who came into town for the blessing. We are so lucky to have so much support from family. Thanks everyone we love you!!!

Kai was looking at the Gorillas and one came right over and sat right on the other side of the glass from him. He was so excited...and scared at the same time.

We tried to get him to pose infront of the gorilla but he wasn't so sure about turning his back to it and smiling.
