Uncle Quinton and (soon to be Aunt) Jen Come to Visit...

My little brother, Quinton came into town for Kai's second birthday. Quinton recently got engaged to Jennifer Gilbert (December 18th is the wedding date). He brought her with him so I could meet her before the actual wedding.
It was so nice to have them in town. Kai has really only seen Quinton maybe twice in his life. (Sad, I know.)
Anyway, they came into town for a short trip and we stayed pretty busy. I remembered to take my camera to a few of our outings so that Kai would remember who Uncle Quinton was (Kai is the ring bearer at his wedding and I don't want him to be afraid of Uncle Quinton and run away with the rings). I am going to have to keep showing Kai these pictures until December so Quinton's face is a familiar one.

Quin was a great sport and let Kai drag him all over the playground one day.

Quin even crawled through the tiny tunnels with Kai. Kai was in heaven b/c he had a little play-mate who would do whatever he wanted. Thanks for being such a great sport Uncle Quinton. You are officially his favorite Uncle!!!

This is my soon to be sister in-law, Jennifer. She was so good with Cici the whole time.
I love this picture of my little brother and my son...priceless.
Teaching Kai to blow bubbles...

Of course we had to take them to see Daniel's Park. Jennifer had never seen mountains before coming to Colorado. (They didn't want to make a trip up to the mountains so we just took them to a pretty spot for the view.) I was kind bummed that it was smoggy out though.

Hmmm...this could be you in a few years Quinton! Jennifer said she wanted kids soon.
I am betting they have two kids by the year 2013.

I had to throw this picture in of Kai and Ben. Kai is wearing the new outfit that Grandma Lundeen gave him for his birthday and it almost looks like Kai and Ben have the same shorts.

Turning Two~

Kai turns two this week and I am in total shock. I cannot believe how fast he is growing up. I have loved every stage that Kai has gone through and he just gets more and more fun the older he gets. Ben and I went up Deer Creek and took a few shots of our soon to be two year-old. What a stud!!!
This is my fav shot of the day...

Kai showing us where the airplane was...

Kai, so happy to be done taking pictures!

~All About Kai~
~He is still not totally talking in "English" yet, but communicates in his own way.
~He knows a lot of animal noises and "moo's" every time I buy milk at the grocery store.
~He is such a happy guy, always smiling and always making me laugh. His laugh is so contagious.
~His best friend is Willie, our dog. They play fetch and chase each other around the house ALL day long.
~Sesame Street (Elmo) and Little Einsteins are his favorite shows to watch.
~Favorite foods are PASTA (all things pasta), banana's, chips, raisins.
~Kai is such a good "cuddler". He loves to sit on our lap and snuggle while we watch Little Einsteins or any NFL game that Ben has on.
~Kai LOVES FOOTBALL. Ever since we went to the Bronco's game he gets so excited when he sees a game on TV.
~THUMB SUCKING. Yup. I broke this habit before he turned one, but now that Cicilee has a binkie to suck on Kai has decided that he needs to suck on his thumb again. HELP!!! I bought the stuff you paint on his thumb to make it taste bad and he doesn't even mind it. (In fact, he will let me know when I have forgotten to paint it on his thumb before he goes down for a nap or bedtime. He WANTS it on there!!)
~Favorite candy is Pez. Random, I know.
~Stranger danger...yup, we are at that stage now. He won't even make eye contact with people he doesn't see on a daily basis anymore.
~Kai is a good big brother. He always wants to make sure the binkie is in Cici's mouth. We are working on learning to share his toys though.
~Not potty trained yet, but he is getting some "big boy underwear" for his birthday this week and after our next trip we are going to do it! My goal is by Christmas we will only have one kid in diapers! (Pray for me) :)
~Favorite toy is anything with wheels. He is 100% boy and loves cars and ESPECIALLY trains.
~My favorite thing about Kai has to be his curiosity. He is so involved with everything around him. This does drive me batty at times, but he is such a smart kid. He loves to see how things work.
I just love my little man more than I can describe. He is a huge blessing in my life and I cannot imagine my life without him. What a difference he has made in my life. ...What a difference two years makes...
I wouldn't change anything.
We love you Kai!

"HoLiDaY CeLeBRaTe"

"If we took a holiday
Took some time to celebrate
Just one day out of life
It would be, it would be so nice"

Labor Day Weekend really flew by this year. We stayed really busy and had a lot of fun.
We went to the pool on Monday and Kai had the time of his life.He went down this slide for an hour straight. It was so fun to sit and watch him play.

What a cute slide, huh?

Some pictures of Kai beyond happy as he races to go down the slide...again...and again, and again!

The expression on his face in this photo is priceless...

My Favorite shot of the day...

Our little Cicy-pie. Decked out in the swimsuit outfit from Carly. Thanks Carly, WE. LOVE. IT!!!

Both kiddos were pretty spent after being at the pool for two hours...

Being a stay at home mom...everyday is pretty much the same. I have the same things that need to get done everyday.
~Feed kids
~Change diapers
~Clean-up kitchen
~Nap time for kids
~Change diapers
~Pick up toys

~etc.....
I am not complaining. I LOVE being a stay at home mom and spending each day with my kids. I have just learned that I really have no "holidays" anymore. Even on holidays I have to get the same things done. However, when Ben has a "holiday" from work and is home I LOVE having him around to help out. We can go and do things and I am more relaxed.
Can't wait for his next "holiday". :)

brOncOs gAmE!!!

GO BRONCOS!!!

Ben got tickets from his work to go the the last preseason game yesterday. Even though we knew there probably wouldn't be any starters playing we thought it would be a fun thing to take the kids to. Kai is almost two and still gets into everything for free...might as well jump on anything we can get our hands on. We were a little nervous as to how it would be taking two kids under the age of two (totally past their bedtime) to a football game. Luckily the kids were angels and didn't make a peep the entire time. They were so happy to be out and about and Kai loved watching the game. There were plenty of touchdowns so Kai got to see the bronco run across the field and the fireworks. I am so glad he had such a great time at his first football game.

So, we didn't have seats up this high, but I had to nurse Cicilee during the game and didn't want to go the family restroom (GROSS!) Ben and I noticed that there were a ton of seats open at the very top of the stadium and we thought that would be a great place to get away from everyone so I could get Cic fed. We soon learned that the reason no one was sitting there was b/c the seats were right under the lights and there were millions of bugs! Awesome...not sure which is worse. Family restroom or sitting there with bugs falling from the lights all over you. Luckily we didn't take that long and Kai was in HEAVEN!

After Cic ate and then spit up pretty much everything she had eaten all day, we asked a guy to take our picture. I love the background but seriously, can ANYONE take a decent picture? We are not in focus...the background is. (Plus Cic is almost blindfolded...why didn't he tell me?) I didn't look at the picture til we sat back down in our seats and I was so bummed. Oh well. I was just happy to get away from all the falling bugs. :)

While we were at the top, Ben was messing around with the camera taking pictures of Kai. I am so glad I didn't have to sit up there all by myself.

Daddy and Kai. (He is totally "in the zone" can you tell?)

Kai didn't want to hold Cicilee, he just wanted to watch the game. Here is his "happy face".

Me and my baby girl.

Our second attempt at a family photo...

Kai loves riding the train! He just stares out the window with a big smile on his face.

Here are the kids at the end of the night...WAAAAAAAAAAAAY past bedtime. I was sure the train ride home would have gotten them to sleep, but they were wide eyed.

I just had to post this picture to show how little my little boy really is. He is a few weeks away from turning 2 and I put this 18 month outfit on him and he was swimming in it all night long. Poor guy. We couldn't get the shirt to stay around his neck, it kept going over his shoulder. He is just a smaller kid. Good thing point guards don't have to be tall!
