eMBRaCiNG PiNK...

Ben took a few days off this weekend and I decided it would be the perfect opportunity to get a project done.
YAY for Honey Do Lists!!!
So, I decided we should tackle painting the little girls room. (Little did I know that Ben was going to make me wear a mask the entire time I was around paint fumes). But, other than the mask it was a blast and I am so happy with the way the room turned out.
We have moved our guest room to the basement so both kiddos will be upstairs with us. So, our task over the weekend was to paint the guest room to look like our girls room. I have already bought the bedding and it is pink, black, and white. I decided to paint the room pink and then will decorate with black and white accents. I went with a really pale pink (almost white) in an eggshell finish and then went one shade darker and bought that in a semi-gloss. I told Ben I wanted stripes and away he went. He was such a hard worker and everything turned out exactly like it was in my head.
THANKS BABE!!!
Sorry for the awful lighting in the pictures below.
This is the room before we started painting.

Right when we first started painting...(you can tell b/c Ben still has a smile on his face.)

This is the room after the first coat of paint.
Even though it is a light shade, you can still totally tell it is pink.

Kai was not in the room while we were painting. He did come in to check it out after he woke up from his nap and the first coat was on though.

Like father, like son....
I love these two pictures. Kai loves to mimic us. Whether I am wiping something up, or Ben is measuring something, Kai wants to help. He is so cute!!!

This is right before we started painting...taping all these lines took a bit of time...and a bit of math.

Benny, hard at work.

Can't really see a difference in the paint color yet huh?

After

Here I am...almost 26 weeks along.
My belly is getting bigger!

Next project on the list....
Curtains!

Awe! It's adorable! I went on an anti-baby pink phase when I was pregnant and opted for a more multi-color bedding and paint job. But now that she's here and I'm really getting into all the girly stuff, I wish I went crazy pink with the room. So don't hold back. Your room is perfect!

Oh my gosh I love the stripes...too bad mine share a room or we would put my dad to work painting pink stripes next weekend! What a patient husband you have to measure out and paint all of that. I am very impressed at how much you are getting done so early. Can't wait to see the bedding. The black, pink and white sounds adorable...is it by chance the Wendy Bellissimo Black Medallion?? She has one that is those colors and I LOVE it! Excited to see pink in your house Ash!

Ashley I love it! I think the two shades of pink look so much better, you can actually see it. Great job.
