My favorite "stay-at-home mom" activity thus far is hands down going to the pool daily. Since a few of my friends are out of town today, Kai and I didn't end up going.
Instead, I blew up this little pool for Kai and he played in the backyard for a bit. After he splashed most of the water out, I put the hose in to fill it back up and this is when the fun began. The last video is my fav.
Enjoy!

9 Month Photos!!!
We went to the Picture People yet again for Kai's 9 month photos. They are under new management now and as usual, I had a great experience. Kristal came along for the ride and I am so glad she did. She is Kai's favorite person, and can always get him to smile. Thanks for all your help today Kristal, I couldn't have done it without you!!!
I decided I wanted some pictures of Kai in his suit. Kai has had a spit up problem since he was born and today was no exception. I was in the waiting area of the studio and Kai spit up all over his suit and shirt. Luckily you can't see it in the photos. But boy did he smell!
I scanned these pictures in, so sorry they look so dusty.
We had this picture blown up to a 10X13, so I wasn't able to scan the entire picture in.

I even brought his swim suit along for some fun summer photos.

I thought this picture was going to turn out totally cheesy, but I actually love his smile in it. He is smiling at Kristal!

Since this picture is Kai's "look" at the moment, I had to purchase it.

I got a 10X13, fifteen 4X6's, and two 5X7's for $30. It was a steal!
They also liked the photos's of Kai so much again that I had to sign another child model release form so they could display his photos in the store. Go and check them out!

RiGHT HaNDeD?
Kai-man loves Cheerios! I know it is probably too early to tell what hand is dominant, but I am guessing he will be a righty. He has been learning to put food in his mouth but only does this with his right hand.

Kai's Thinkin' Face
Baby Gate Here We Come...
We are quickly learning what we need to babyproof. This is Kai's latest discovery. I was curious how far he would climb, so I stood behind him earlier today and he made it all the way up to the seventh stair.
Our friend Kristal babysat for us one afternoon and said he was climbing the stairs, but until today we had never seen it.

Kai's New Squirt Gun
We got home from the pool today and I gave Kai a bath to get the remainder of the sunscreen off him.
Today was an unusually frustrating bath day for me b/c Kai's favorite thing to do is stand up. He even wants to stand in the tub. I am terrified that he will fall and hurt himself, so I keep telling him "No" and sitting him back down. This becomes a game with Kai and he laughs and laughs everytime I sit him back down.
After I had had enough of this game, I started to drain the tub and turned to reach his bath towel. While my back was turned I could hear the tub draining, but I could also hear a strange squirt gun noise. I spun around to find Makai standing yet again in the tub and looking down at what I assumed were his feet. I then realized that Makai was peeing in the tub and was watching his pee hit the water like one of his bath toys that squirts water.
Kai then looked up at me with a satisfied smile. I can't help but think he was so fascinated with peeing in the tub today and standing at the same time, that he will do it again.
When I called Ben and told him what happened, Ben was so proud...Must be a guy thing. Today Kai-Man peed while standing up for the first time.
Congrats,I think...

Quote Of The Day...
Let me begin by saying that Ben is a great dad...
Hopefully after his experience yesterday, he can better appreciate the fact that I stay home...
Kai has a pretty nasty cold, so naturally we didn't want him going to church and getting other kids sick.
Since I teach the 4 year olds, Ben offered to stay home with Kai.
I came home from church and finished giving Kai his bottle (that he should have had an hour earlier) and then headed upstairs to change out of my dress.
Me~"Ben, can you watch Kai real quick while I change?"
Ben~"Ash, I need a break".
Let me just clarify...
Church is from 9am-12pm. (THREE HOURS) Kai's nap is from 9am-11am (TWO HOURS)
I got home at 12:15pm.
You do the math...
Men...gotta love 'em

I Like to Eat, Eat, Eat Apples and Bananas...
Kai will be nine months old this week! I took him in for his appointment and he is still in the 50% for height and head, but still only in the 10% for weight (about 17 pounds).
The Dr told me we could introduce him to meats, yogurt, and cheese now. I was so excited so I went out and bought some gerber baby food meat in a glass jar.
After probably 15 minutes of putting spoonfuls in his mouth and Kai gagging, he looked up at me with a preceless look that said, "Mom, I'm a vegetarian".
I will forever be upset that I didn't get this on camera.

Grow Damn It!!!
My mom sent me this sign for my garden and I absolutely love it!

This is one of my favorite things in the yard...I love to sit outside and layout, listening to the water fountain.

My mom also sent me this bird feeder. Since our neighborhood is still fairly new construction there aren't many birds but I have seen a few eating from my feeder.
Thanks mom!

I love roses. I have 9 rose bushes planted in the backyard lining our fence. I want to plant 2 more but haven't been able to decide on what color.

My mini roses are blooming. Several are going to explode soon with blooms.
I have 11 mini roses planted in the planter Ben made me last summer.
I am so excited to see the allysum are really starting to fill in the empty spaces in between my mini roses.

This mini rose is on of my favs. It is red and white striped.

Pots, Pots, and more Pots!
We have 11 pots around the house.
In this picture you can even see the two privacy trees we planted behind our fence. Hopefully they make it.

I planted a few poppies this year. They are some of my favorite flowers to watch bloom. They have such a hairy stem.

This is the peach tree we planted earlier this summer. It is only producing leaves around the trunk. It is the saddest looking peach tree I have ever seen. Hopefully next year it will be a little better looking. Maybe in a couple of years we will have some peaches!

My salvia and lilies are up and starting to bloom. I just hope that this climbing rose I planted infront of a trellis makes it.
