McLovin' Life

Kai has been so happy lately. He has always been a happy boy, but lately he has been so happy and laughing all the time. He is such a flirt and smiles at all the girls who talk to him.
His smiles make me melt. He has the most beautiful smile I have ever seen. I am a lucky mom!

Real Boys Wear Pink

The weather was so nice today I thought Kai could go to church in a short sleeved shirt. I love this pink shirt and tie on him. He looked so handsome!

Melting Pot...Round Two...

We hadn't been back to The Melting Pot for two years and now we have been twice in one month! What can I say?...I love the place!!!

We went to The Melting Pot with our good friends Christian and Kristal this time around. We have been hanging out with them a ton lately and loving it. This was Kristal's first time to The Melting Pot and I felt an obligation to introduce her to one of my favorite places.

There are stories that the restaraunt is haunted...the middle stall in the women's restroom is said to have a little girl who will grab your ankles. Well, the little girl must have had a night off b/c no one grabbed our ankles. I love those kind of stories...I get really into it.

When I agreed to go back to work to assist in training my replacement, I was desperate to find someone to care for Makai while I would be gone. I didn't know who to ask. I kept thinking of Kristal but didn't know her very well. Finally I got the courage to ask her if she could help us out temporarily. We are so lucky she agreed. They have been a huge blessing in our lives. Makai loves them! He is always so happy when I pick him up. Not only do we love them because they love Makai, but we have so much in common. Whenever we hang out, we have a blast and tonight was no exception.

I must be hilarious...at least Kai thinks so...

This is an outfit from Ben's boss. It looks so cute on Kai.

LaZy DayZ

Ben and Kai took a nap together this afternoon. They are so adorable. I am amazed at the bond they already share. Kai just loves his daddy.

Valentine's Day Eve

I LOVE THE MELTING POT! Ben suprised me this Valentine's Eve and made reservations to my favorite place to eat. Yes I love the food, but I love going with great friends and chatting the entire time as well. We went with our hilarious neighbors Nick and Jackie and had a blast. Since we were there so late, we got a little slap happy and everything ended up being funny. I love nights like that.

This is Nick and Jackie...we love them!

Ben is not a huge fan of the meat at Melting Pot so this time we opted not to have the meat. It was shockingly inexpensive and we loved every minute of it. We seriously have the best neighbors. This was such a great Valentine's Day. I am sure we will all be paying the price in the morning b/c we didn't leave the Melting Pot till about 11:30pm...It was worth it though.

Happy Valentines Day!

This is the Valentine's Day picture we had taken for Kai this year. I wanted a picture of his backside so he could wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day from the bottom of his heart.

Michaelson Look-alike Meter

MyHeritage: Family tree - Genealogy - Celebrity - Collage - Morph

I saw this meter on one of my friend's blogs and thought I would give it a try to see what it said about Makai. Everyone says that Makai is a "mini Ben"...well, everyone but this meter...

Our Happy Boy!

This is one of the pictures we had taken recently. We love it.
Don't look too close though...we scanned it in, so the quality isn't that great.
Check out Kai's six-pack!

Sitting Up at 4 1/2 Months

Since Kai did so well sitting up on his own yesterday, I thought we would practice today...

Sitting up and Spitting up!

Pictures for Valentine's Day

I love taking Kai to get his pictures taken. They ALWAYS turn out so cute. Yesterday we took him to get pictures for Valentine's Day Cards and this is one of the shots we got. (This is a picture of a picture...sorry about the glare). I wanted to get some pictures of Makai that were different that the usual...we have so many of him laying down. I thought, maybe I could get him to sit for a split second and the picture would look like he could sit all by himself...
No joke, I sat him up and he just stayed there. Yes he took some dives, but is getting really good at balancing on his own. Crazy!

Patience...A Virtue or A Curse???

When I first started working with Merrill Lynch (2 years ago) Ben bought me this orchid as a desk warming gift. I loved it, watered it, even bought fertilizer for it. The blooms lasted for about 2 months and it was beautiful. After the blooms were gone, I still loved, watered, and fertilized it...but without any gratitude from the plant. All it had was leaves, no flowers. Everyone at work made fun of me for keeping the plant around. I religiously watered my little flowerless plant for 2 years.... When I went on maternity leave from work, I took my ungrateful friend home with me so I could ensure that it would be taken care of... One day a shoot appeared...then, a shoot and several buds...this morning, I had my first bloom!
It is beautiful and I love it!
I would always see orchids for sale at the store and think that I should just buy a new one...They are about $20-$25. I bet I spent about that much on water, fertilizer, and time in the past two years...sad, but now I can say it was worth it.

Walkin' On Sunshine

Colorado is so beautiful! I cannot wait to take Kai out in a running stroller this summer, go to the pool, and have BBQ's in the warm weather. It was such a nice day today and Ben and I couldn't resist taking Makai out for a walk. This is the first outdoor walk we have ever taken him on. I loved it. Kai pretty much slept the entire time. Here he is sucking his favorite thumb.
This was taken after the walk...Sound Asleep

What Color Are You?

Take this test!
You're yellow, the color of joy and energy — two things you definitely bring to everyone around you. It's hard for anyone to be sad or lonely in your presence; your sunny disposition and cheery outlook just won't allow it. The warmth of your personality shines through in the kindness you show friends and family (and strangers, too). Always ready with a lighthearted joke or heartfelt compliment, you know how to make people feel good about themselves, so they can't get enough of you. Yellow is a warm and inviting color for a warm and inviting person — you!
